The damned thought: I wonder if the former Joseph Ratzinger ever signed "Benedict XVI" in loopy cursive on notebook paper, or if he thought that he'd just play it by ear if he got picked to be Pope.

LOL! Nyssa, you should email him and ask. I'm sure he toyed around with a few names first, but obviously, this one stuck.
