Thanks, Michelle, for weighing in on the Chicago-area hazing thing. I actually hadn't any footage until I saw some on the news at my bf's apartment over the weekend. Seeing the video is a lot more disturbing that just reading about it.

I do notice that the Chicago Tribune is naming the children who were charged. Good for them. We should do that everywhere. If you want an announcement when they become a National Merit Scholarship Semi-finalist (don't parents realize how many kids are semi-finalists?), then it's only fair that when they fuck up, that should go in the paper too.

But, after having read this, I'm now inclined to think there's maybe something in Lake Michigan that touches these kids in the head.
