Rewrite theater, not unlike Seattle theater, seems to be undergoing a "frugal" phase. Is it the day? Is it the time of year? The time of month, maybe? I do not know, but this week's winner is Bet, who genuinely made me laugh with:

I'll try not to get discouraged by this week's turnout. Anyway, I (and the game) will take the week off, as I'm jetting to San Diego for the rest of this week (or Sandy Aygo, as I thought of it when I was a child).
